To coincide with the Snapshot exhibit beginning Friday September 11th, the 930 Art Center is pleased to offer a two day workshop presented by artist Leslie Doyle.  The workshop will begin with a talk covering the history of the ’snapshot aesthetic’, and how this approach was utilized to launch the careers of several prominent photographers over the past several decades.

Attendants will then be introduced to the Interpretation project, which is a participatory project started by Leslie Doyle in 2008.  Participants are asked to submit photographs to represent a set of subjective words along with their written interpretation.  All of the photographs submitted to this project are completed by other individuals, regardless of photographic experience.  This workshop will offer the attendants the opportunity to participate in the project with the use of disposable cameras, the ultimate snapshot camera.  The results will be presented in the second day of the workshop, and will be shown on the Interpretation Project website as the project continues to grow.  The photographs also have the potential to be exhibited in the future.
