The 930 Listening Room is pleased to present Canadian singer-songwriter Basia Bulat with Neva Geoffrey for an all ages show.
“A native of London, Ontario, Bulat’s debut album is a gentle charmer of back-porch rusticism.” - Stephen Dalton, UNCUT (UK)
“I Was A Daughter”, which starts out with droplets of piano and “Sinnerman”-style handclaps before blossoming into a gentle torrent of violins and rapid-fire drumming, then recedes and reappears, is another example of Bulat’s knack for curious and surprising arrangements.” - Eric Harvey, Pitchfork media
Neva Geoffrey’s The Days are Rolling could easily compliment a record collection that already includes Dusty Springfield, Elliott Smith, Andrew Bird, and Cat Power. Neva Geoffrey has recently and happily shared bills with fine folks like Jose Gonzalez and The Duhks. Bathed in the oasis of Austin in the otherwise conventional state of Texas, she left a murder of musicians, bidding them the luck of the future for her own pursuit of this release and touring to follow.
